We waited for the temperature to rise before setting off for a walk in a nearby nature reserve. We spotted a cardinal, yellow rump warbler and osprey as well as a number of roseate spoonbills, white pelicans, egrets, herons and ibises of various kinds. No photos - they were too quick, too far away or behind vegetation.
We were denied our rocket launch for the second night running - cause as yet unknown.
