Last day

The highlight of our last day was a tour of a lighthouse on Cape Canaveral. Because it was on an airforce base of the same name we all had to be vetted. Non-US nationals were excluded the last time we wanted to go.

As well as seeing the cast-iron lighthouse we also looked at some of the abandoned launch pads, including the one where three astronauts died in a fire in an Apollo capsule. It was eerie to see these massive concrete structures with plants growing on them.

In the afternoon we wend for a walk on the beach and saw an osprey catching a fish in the surf line.
